Antonio Prata was born in São Paulo in 1977. In 2012, he was selected by Granta as one of the twenty “Best Young Brazilian Writers.” He is the author of Meio intelectual, meio de esquerda (Editora 34, 2010), winner of the Brasília Literature Award in the category of short-stories and Crônicas, and Felizes quase sempre [Almost always Happy] (Editora 34, 2012), a finalist for the Jabuti Award in the children’s literature category.  Prata, in addition to being a columnist for the newspaper Folha de São Paulo, is also a scriptwriter for film and television.

Katrina Dodson is a writer and translator. Her translation of The Complete Stories by Clarice Lispector won the 2016 PEN Translation Prize, among other awards. Her writing has appeared in The Believer, McSweeney’s, and The Millions. Dodson is currently adapting her Lispector translation journal into a book and translating the Brazilian modernist classic Macunaíma, the Hero Without Character, by Mário de Andrade, for New Directions. She holds a PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of California, Berkeley.
